Frequently Asked Questions

Engagements / Couples

Why hire me to be your engagement photographer?

While the traditional idea of standing pretty together and smiling at the camera can certainly make for great photos, I like to take a more unconventional approach when it comes to engagement photos. I prefer to plan a kind of date night for my couples in which they can enjoy each other's company doing something they love to do together and I capture it as if I'm just a fly on the wall. This can look something like the two of you cooking spaghetti together in your kitchen, if cooking is a passion of yours. We can also plan a picnic on the beach and get photos of you two laughing beside candlelight and then going for a stroll along the shore. Or we could go to the park and run around with your beloved fur babies.

The idea is that each session is completely personalized in order to highlight what kind of moments are significant to you and your partner. Engagement and couples sessions are an amazing way to highlight the romance and beauty of your relationship as well as the fun and silly side of it. I can ensure that your gallery will reflect your personality and style as you enter the beginning of spending the rest of your lives together.

How far in advance should/can I book?

Whenever you are ready is best! The sooner the better so that you can be sure to lock in your date. Typically my couples book anywhere between 1 and 6 months of the date they want their session to be.

What should we wear?

When you book a session, you’ll receive a copy of my session style guide with advice about how to style your outfits, tips for the best colors, accessories, and inspiration photos. And I’m also only a message away if you have some ideas but need a second opinion.

Can I have all the unedited images?

Just like an artist wouldn’t sell an unfinished painting, I don't release unedited photos. Raw images don't represent my work at its final, highest quality. But not to worry, any undelivered images are due to blur or blinks, are unflattering, or are duplicates from rapid photo shooting.

When will I receive my images?

You can expect your completed online gallery in 4-6 weeks or less. I know how eager you'll be to see your stunning gallery and it's my top priority to get it to you as soon as possible.

Will you help us decide on a location?

Of course! I'm happy to chat with you and help decide what type of location would best reflect the vibe you're going for. I have an entire location guide with plenty of suggestions ready and waiting!

How would you describe your style?

I like to describe my work as a documentation of warm, romantic, genuine moments. My goal is to highlight all the candid moments as they unfold naturally. A lot of my favorite wedding photos are those in-between moments of my couples giggling together or just lovingly gazing into each other's eyes, completely unprompted by me.

That being said, I’m happy to help direct during portraits if you feel like you don’t know what to do with your hands or where to put your feet. I tend to offer prompts that include a little bit of motion and encourage interaction with each other so the images look more fluid and allow my couples to feel like themselves and really show off the way they naturally interact.

As far as editing, my style is akin to true to life with a hint of warm, creamy film-vibes.

What's the booking process like?

After we've had a chance to chat about your vision for your session and go over my pricing guide, once you're ready to book, I'll send over a contract agreement for you to review and digitally sign. Once that's done, I'll send over your invoice for your $200 retainer payment to officially reserve your date. Your final payment will be due 30 days before your session.

Weddings

Why hire me to be your wedding photographer?

Hiring a wedding photographer is an amazing way to highlight the romance and beauty of your relationship. I can ensure that your gallery will reflect your personality and style as you enter the beginning of spending the rest of your lives together. Having worked in the wedding industry for the past 3 years, I know how stressful your big day can be.

When you hire me as your wedding photographer, my role is so much more than taking photos. I’m here to ease the anxiety and be your biggest hype person from the moment you slip into your wedding dress until your sparkler exit at the end of the night. It’s my self-proclaimed duty to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible and to help with all the little things along the way. Need extra bobby pins in the middle of portraits, I gotchu. Need someone to help tighten the buckle on your heels so you feel more comfortable, happy to do it. Need someone to pin on the groomsmen boutonnières, I’ve got plenty of practice.

How far in advance should/can I book?

Whenever you are ready is best! The sooner the better so that you can be sure to lock in your date. Currently, I book weddings a maximum of 18 months in advance.

I’m having an intimate or elopement wedding, do you have smaller packages with shorter lengths of coverage?

I do! I absolutely love intimate weddings and elopements! Reach out to me with the details of your day and we can chat about options that will work best for you.

Will there be a 2nd photographer?

Select wedding packages include 2 photographers, myself as the lead and then an additional, second photographer. However, you can always request to add a 2nd shooter to your package if it doesn't already include one.

Just like an artist wouldn’t sell an unfinished painting, I don't release unedited photos. Raw images don't represent my work at its final, highest quality. But not to worry, any undelivered images are due to blur or blinks, are unflattering, or are duplicates from rapid photo shooting. I promise that there won't be any captured memories left out of your gallery.

When will I receive my images, and how many?

All weddings receive a sneak peek within 7 days of the wedding day. After that, typically you can expect your completed online gallery in 10 weeks or less. You will receive a minimum of 50 final images for each hour of coverage, but can expect more. I know how eager you'll be to see your stunning gallery and it's my top priority to get it to you as soon as possible.

Do you travel?

Yes! I am based in New Jersey, but am booking weddings anywhere in the U.S. as well as internationally. Feel free to ask me about your location and if travel fees apply.
